Changing Devices with Enabled Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Prepare before switching devices 
Once two-factor authentication (2FA) has been set up, your Continux account is linked to your current smartphone. Therefore, switching devices requires preparation to avoid losing access.

Before changing your device 
You should deactivate 2FA on your current device before switching to a new one and re-enable it on the new device afterward.

Steps to follow:

  1. Log in to Continux using your current (old) mobile device.
  2. Go to Settings and navigate to the section for two-factor authentication.
  3. Deactivate 2FA.
  4. Once you’ve switched to your new device, re-activate 2FA by following the setup process described in this article.


If you no longer have access to your old device 
If you didn’t deactivate 2FA in time and no longer have access to your authenticator app, please contact Continux Support. Upon request, we can manually reset 2FA for you.


Note

The QR code can technically be scanned on multiple devices. Some apps also offer synchronisation features. However, for security reasons, we do not recommend using 2FA across multiple devices and cannot guarantee the safety of such setups.
