To set up two-factor authentication, you will need an authenticator app (mobile client) installed on your mobile phone. Suitable apps can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy.
Steps to link your device:
- Open the authenticator app of your choice and add a new service or account.
- Scan the QR code provided by Continux.
- Save the newly added profile in the app.
- Setup is complete. Your authenticator app is now configured for Continux and will automatically generate valid login tokens.
Important Information When Changing Devices
Once two-factor authentication has been activated, Continux is permanently linked to your current mobile authenticator setup. If you plan to change your mobile device, this must be handled in advance to avoid losing access.
Important:
You must remove the link to your old phone before resetting, selling or disposing of it.
Steps to change your mobile device:
- Log in to Continux using your current mobile phone.
- Go to the settings and deactivate two-factor authentication.
- After switching to your new phone, follow the initial steps to link it again.
If Access is No Longer Possible
If you did not remove the old link in time and no longer have access to your authenticator, please contact Continux Support. On request, we can manually reset two-factor authentication for you.
Please note: The QR code can technically be scanned on multiple devices. Some authenticator apps also offer synchronisation between devices. However, we do not recommend this and cannot guarantee the security of such solutions.
