If you have accidentally created multiple entries for the same contact in the system, you can clean them up using the following steps:
1. Search for the Contact
Open the contact overview.
Enter the contact’s name in the search bar.
All entries with the same or similar name will be displayed.
2. Check Linked IP Rights
Click through each of the listed contacts.
Check which IP rights are linked to each contact.
3. Mark Contacts for Deletion
Select the two contacts with the fewest linked IP rights.
Rename the first one to e.g.
Amadeus DELETE_1 MeyerRename the second one to
Amadeus DELETE_2 Meyer
4. Transfer IP Rights to the Correct Contact
Open all case files where “DELETE_1” or “DELETE_2” are listed.
Add the correct contact (the one you want to keep) to each case.
Then remove “DELETE_1” and “DELETE_2” from those files.
5. Final Check and Deletion
Double-check both DELETE contacts:
Are there no IP rights linked anymore? If so, you may safely delete both entries from the system.
Tip: If a contact has no linked IP rights from the beginning, you can delete it immediately without following the above steps.
