If you accidentally have multiple entries for the same contact in the system, you can clean these up using the following steps:
1. Search for contact
Open the contact overview.
Enter the contact's name in the search bar.
All entries with the same or similar name will be displayed.
2. Check linked IP rights
Click on each of the contacts found one by one.
Check which files are linked to each individual contact.
3. Mark contacts for deletion
Select the two contacts with the fewest links to IP rights.
Rename the first one to e.g. Amadeus DELETE_1 Meyer
Rename the second one accordingly to Amadeus DELETE_2 Meyer
4. Transfer IP rights to the contact to be retained
Open all records in which "DELETE_1" or "DELETE_2" are used.
Add the contact entry that is to be retained there as well.
Then remove "DELETE_1" and "DELETE_2" from the records.
5. Final check and deletion
Check both contacts to be deleted once more: No active files linked any more?
If yes: permanently delete both contacts from the system.
Tip: If a contact has no linked files from the outset, it can be deleted directly without any prior steps.
